They all eat Taste of the Wild grain free dog food and love it. Their do less 'buisness' in the yard and grain is one of the main causes of allergies. They also eat less than other dog foods because they absorb most of it in their system. The treat that is their version of crack is freeze dried beef liver. You need to find this type of treat for your dog. That is how Frankie comes when called - promises of liver. I know it is bribery but she gets to run about with no leash - which benefits me, win-win. More later.

Frankie
Frankie (AKA: Frankel, Stankel, Frankel Stankel, Frank, Frankiestein, Little One and when bad-You Little Sh**.) Frankie is full of fun, energy and personality. She was a hard puppy because of her energy and jumping around but as she gets older she is learning the word no. Because of her energy level I have check the ingredients on the snacks I give and look for anything sweet (sugar, sugar cane or molasses).
She is about 16 inches high and weighs about 30 lbs. When you look at her you would say she looks like a miniature Border Collie, except she has a curly tail. She has never enjoy snuggling or even being held. She is her own personality. All the other dogs will be laying in the living room with us and she will be in another room. She has discovered the tile floor is cooler than the wooden floor.
Frankie is a chewer. I have to always have rawhide sticks or bones for her to chew on. More later....

Let's meet the dogs

The Grand Dame of the group is a 13 year old brown Lab named Hershey. Until last December we also had her 15 year old Mother Annie. At 13 you can imagine Hershey's day. Eat, sleep and well you can guess the last thing. I've changed Hershey's food to one that has No wheat, corn or soy. She has allergies and this has helped her skin tremendously (Diamond Naturals Lamb and Rice). Hershey's bed is in the living room. She will not just lay on the floor. If her bed is taken, she will walk around and around and around and ... well you get the picture, until it is available. She will lay on the front door mat, but she will not just lay on the floor.
She is a good girl and has spoiled me because I let her out the back door and she comes back when she is finished. She won't leave the unfenced back yard. Not much funny to write about Hershey (AKA Hershel). She is just a good dog that has had a good life.
The other 4 dogs are all under 2 years old. I think the next one I will write about will be Frankie. I named her after Aretha Franklin.

Just the Start
This is the start of my blogging about our dogs. We have 5. (no typo) I hope you will find some humor in this. I am doing this at the urging of my neice. I write the way I talk. I may not use correct grammer but I am a child of the south, deal with it.
